What engines are offered in the 2022 GMC Yukon?

The 2022 Yukon offers buyers three engine options to choose from. First, GMC's 5.3L V8 engine delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine comes standard on the SLE, SLT, and AT4 models. The next engine is the impressive 6.2L V8 engine that provides 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque and is available on AT4 and standard on Denali. Lastly, the powerful Duramax 3.0L turbo-diesel engine offers 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. If you opt for this engine, you can expect a 648-mile range on a full tank in Yukon and a 756-mile range on a full tank in Yukon XL. Regardless of the engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission handles the shifting duties. Rear-wheel drive is standard, except for the AT4, which comes standard with four-wheel drive. Every other trim level has 4WD on its options list.

How much cargo room is available in the GMC Yukon?

The Yukon interior can be configured as an eight-seater or a 6. The second-row seats slide forward and back, creating maximum legroom of 42 inches. The third row enjoys 34.9 inches of legroom unless it's in the XL, where there are 36.7 inches. The regular-length 2022 Yukon has a luggage area behind the rear seats of 25.5 cubic feet. That's great, but the XL, um, excels with 41.5. The third-row folds to create 72.6 or 93.8 cubic feet, respectively. The second-row tumbles to make a maximum of 122.9 cubic feet or 144.7 in the XL. If any antique hunters come across a lovely old wardrobe, it'll probably fit in the XL. A new feature for 2022, this 12-inch driver information display is partly digital, with an analog speedometer and rev counter. In tandem with the 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, it adds to the cabin's vibe of user-friendly tech. The available multicolor 15-inch diagonal Head-Up Display helps keep the driver focused on the road with customizable projects of vehicle information directly onto the windshield.

The available GMC Pro Safety Plus offers an array of driver-alert and active safety technologies, including cameras and ultrasonic sensors that help you avoid potential hazards. In addition, advanced vehicle security systems will help protect you and your family safe with features such as Glass break sensors, Ultrasonic motion detectors, an inclination sensor that trips an alarm before a tire leaves the ground, helping to prevent a wheel or vehicle theft, and a high-pitched, self-powered siren that sounds completely different from the vehicle horn. This will sound when the vehicle alarm sounds or if the battery cable is cut. With the Teen Driver feature, your 2022 Yukon will help encourage safe driving habits for new drivers.
